The event was organized in response to the competition held by Moscomarchitectura for the best project of reconstruction of exiting building of Central House of Artist – State Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky val. Within the frame of the event there were presented four best projects chosen by jury, and public discussion of the results of the competition was held. The exhibition «Krymskyi Val» was timed with the event and has brought together the materials of the last competition and architectural concepts and developments of the past years.

The purpose of our action was to contribute to the city-planning component of the architectural debate of the last competition and draw public attention to the serious problem of development of this valuable territory, reserved for the central and most representative cultural complex of the capital. The retrospect of ideas and project proposals of architects, which for the last hundred years were trying to interpret professionally this complex city-planning joint, would not create a united trend of architectural thought, but it would warn against conjunctural irremediable decisions.
