Exhibition is research on urban transformations in post-perestroika Moscow. During XX century historic discourse demonstrate that general planning of reconstruction and development of Moscow applies for idea of foresight and designing an ideal city. The soviet period marks at least three fundamental ways to create the capital of the first socialistic state in the world: New Moscow 1: radical urban experiments of 1920s, which were never realized; New Moscow 2: artistic mega project of the capital of the won socialism Empire; New Moscow 3: idealistic model of urban development based on the ideas of complex planning, industrialization and standardization. Gorbachev’s Perestroika became the beginning of destroying soviet system and its transition to market which came into force in 1990s. For the first time project will yielded to market development, which begins to dictate the nature of reorganization to a great extent. The results are radical transformations of the capital which being coupled with Moscow region stay the huge urban and architectural laboratory. Exposition shows the leading Moscow architects’ works that determine image of New Moscow 4. Exhibition include video with the architects monologues on changes which took place in architecture and city-planning of the capital after Perestroika.
Exhibition is dedicated to phenomenon of New Moscow 4, the post-socialistic capital which has been being formed actively during last 20 years and it is seemed to be the beginning of New Moscow 5.
